Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
Do you like to chug scotch while spraying on a cloud of Sex Panther cologne? Do you have many leather-bound books and does your apartment smell of rich mahogany? Chances are you've been studying at the school ofAnchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
This 2004 film has become one of the most quotable comedies in recent memory. One liners are delivered by an ace team of funny-men-turned-newscasters including Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Steve Carell.
In the film, the San Diego KVWN Channel 4 news team, lead by Ferrell as Burgundy, hits the rocks when a new female reporter (Christina Applegate) joins the station. The newsmen take the lovely new reporter for a playmate, laying in some of that good old 1970s misogyny — that is until she sabotages Burgundy and takes his job. Keep an eye out for cameos, including Seth Rogen, Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Danny Trejo, Jerry Stiller, Judd Apatow, and Fred Armisen, and listen for a classic 1970s soundtrack. "Afternoon Delight," anyone?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ferrell said Ron Burgundy is the favorite character he's played — and we'd argue that it may be his best. That being said, don't expect a sequel anytime soon. Paramount had been considering one, but Ferrell recently said publicly the studio has decided to can the potential project.
